Just seen on Facebook that Naim have posted an article about new hifi show in Vegas and the launch of a new product.

Not another new item, I hear you say !

Any ideas what it might be ?

A retro fit naim in car hifi would be good. drop your car off at Salisbury get a Bentley loan car for 2 days come back an off you go. But be warned you'll have to keep going back for upgrades

Hoping for one of the first two and the third as part of the same announcement:

 

1) a minimalist Dac-Pre (line, phono and DAC - nothing else)

2) a minimalist Pre (line and phono - nothing else) at either 252 or 282 level

3) a PSU designed specifically for the above

   Surely as a "high ranking" member and residing in the good old US of A, you would expect better than that. At the very least a personal call to your home and a Pre launch demo of whatever it is they are showing?

Speculation is fun. My guesses:

 

- the awaited Ovator S- 200 and upgraded Ovator S-600

- a Classic version of the NAC-N 172 ( pre with integrated streaming capability)

- a balanced power supply/conditioner with a huge transformer to finally deal with the humm

Re: the very large transformers reportedly seen at the factory recently I bet it's a new power amp or pre-amp to match the Ovator 800.

Could it be Naim's new Statement NAP superseding the 500? I know it's in the works but didn't think it would launch quite so early in 2013. The US market would be the ideal place to launch it though and it would be the ideal partner for the 800 as well....

Money still on the reference streaming pre.....heard from a couple of "reliable sources".

 

Guess we'll all have to wait an see though.
