Upgrade of Unitiqute firmware (attempted)
Posted by: bilbosbaggies on 05 January 2013
Am in the process of attempting my first firmware upgrade on my Unitiqute and am having some issues...
I've downloaded/installed the streamer updater to my Samsung N110 laptop and am attempting an upgrade using the wizard to get from 3.0 to 3.17.
The ARM code update goes through fine, when it moves to the streamer code update that's when things seem to get stuck.
After the forced reset at the end of the ARM upgrade the menu heading updates to 'updating streamer code', I then see the message 'waiting for the product to switch to upload mode' and that's as far as it ever gets.
After c1h I get the message update failed, indicating a comms failure and suggesting a repeat of the process or contact with Naim technical support. Repeating the installation attempt creates the same failure condition and messages.
The unitiqute is connected to the network by ethernet cable into my network switch which in turn is connected to the router. My laptop is similarly connected whilst I'm performing the upgrade. The laptop is connected to the unitiqute by means of a USB (laptop) to RS232 (unitiqute) serial converter connection.
Has anyone got experience of resolving the above or any suggestions?
Many thanks
Graham
