Car nostalgia

If we're talking nostalgia, how about my still-running Wolseley 15/60.
Wolseley
A different time. Wood and leather in the interior by any chance?

Reg,
Good to see the old ones still lasting well and in everyday use.
What age is the car and what mileage ?
Original batmobile, just sold for 4,2 million

Wow, Reg, I haven't seen one of those in very long time. Takes me back to my teens when the manager of my amateur football team used to pick me up and take me to the away games in his Wolseley. It was a lovely and cosy place to be on cold and rainy days. Happy memories. Does the badge on the yours still illuminate?

Me...
So Fabio,
What was its use? We're you into surfing, camping? Something else ?
DrM,
It's amazing what memories are rekindled from this thread. I had totally forgot about get smart, but now you mention it, the car looks familiar.
Was it james coburn who was the smart agent?
It was a total spoof of bond? or am I mixing things up?
The actor was Don Adams - and you are correct in remembering it as a spoof on Bond/The Man From U.N.C.L.E., or just the whole 60's spy genre. Max worked for C.O.N.T.R.O.L., and their arch nemesis organization was K.A.O.S., headed by Bernie Koppel, who was a scream as Zigfried.
I have the whole series on DVD - hilarious. A typical banter between Max and his boss, the oft-exasperated (at Max) Chief:
Chief: "Max, we're up against an organization that will stop at nothing to take over the United States Government!"
Max: "Oh, who's that Chief, the Republicans?"
Max's other 2 rides in the course of the series were a VW Karmann Ghia:
And at the end, an Opel GT (his was silver or gold IIRC):
Original batmobile, just sold for 4,2 million
And by a margin that can only be described as a chasm - the way coolest. How I coveted this car as a grade school kid!
What a hoot it would be to drive down the highway in this thing.
If I had £4 million I would buy this one.
If I had half a million going spare I'd buy this beauty. Even though I can't drive.
Dr M,
i was also thinking of the TV series with james coburn --- our man flint !
the other 2 cars in the posting are also very nice.
Really like the Karmann Ghia
If I had £4 million I would buy this one.
Theres no accounting for taste !!!!

Kevin,
you dont need a driving licence for this, you need a mental certificate

Paul,it was back in '83 when me and some friends went to Spain on the south coast.I was riding my Guzzi v35,another friend had his Morini 3 1/2.When I was tired I just sat down into that historical van while a friend jumped out the VW and used to ride my motorcycle.I was 22...

Good choice Fabio, although I think I slightly prefer the looks of the GT. I remember one of the baddies in Tintin (was it The Calculus Affair??) drove an Aurelia GT and always at top speed. I so wanted one and came close to buying a wreck for a few grand back in the late '80s that was part of a big barn find near home. Wish I had done so but the restoration costs even back then were going to be beyond my means.
I always thought of you as a Ferrari man but this Alfa is certainly gorgeous. Is that the Stradale?
Bloody Italians!!!
