Car nostalgia

Tony,
Hope that's AstroTurf, otherwise it will be hell to keep the grass trimmed
Wicked motor those green Hondas..
Great photo, I feel the pain
How coudl we neglect James Bond's ride - the old:
And the new:
when you look back at the bond cars, there have been some very questionable choices made.
pleased that you showed the aston though. probably considered to the THE bond car of all time

I saw one of the newish ones in the basement parking lot of a clinic where I was filling in back in about 2004 - it was the prettiest car I ever saw.
Steve and his "Bullitt" Mustang:
The "Gone in 60 Seconds" Mustang
as we are talking movie cars
First Car (file photo)
£400 from the garage I had a Saturday job at. Mine was a bit more orangey-red than this. Blew up about 14 months later. Had all the attributes of a "Golf with a boot". Drove like a Golf. Looked like a Golf with a boot. Only booting a priceless Ming Dynasty vase, or Juliette Binoche's face, might convert something from attractive to unattractive so effectively.

Present car:
Still in love with this. Practically the same engine as the XK8, but aluminium bodied, and so weighs far less, and a much better gearbox. Drives like a dream (for the moment!)
Best Car (not in every respect)
Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV 1972 (someone else's photo). Mine was this exact Burgundy colour, but LHD and had a matching webasto sunroof. Mine looked good, but not quite as concourse as this picture. I had no covered storage, and I had to sell it because looking after it London's open air was becoming too much of a battle against the elements, mounting bills and guilt at adding pointless mileage.
Still, everyone has to own an Alfa Romeo sometime, might as well get it out of the way...
My MKII Golf GTI Red was way better handling than my previous Jetta GTI Black. Maybe it was the colour?
Rodwsmith,
where is the image of the present car?
Shows up on my computer. Hmmm. Same source (Farcebook album) as the other jag picture. No idea why that happens. Here's another pic:
Yep, got it nw.
An absolute corker of a car
Thanks!
I actually found an old scanned photo of my baby. Terrible quality picture, but that's somehow, er, appropriate.
Heavens I miss that car.
If I had a garage and loads of money I would buy another of these in a flash. Brilliant car.
Rod, thought you said your car was LHD ?
Or is the photo reversed ?
Oops, no RHD, sorry, the photo I pinched from the internet was 'wrong'. The perils of moving from the UK to France - confusion. My Alfa was a UK model.
Rod
High spec Yugo !!
This is some of the collection of one of our more, er, well-heeled customers.:
He took me for a spin in the Bugatti. Nice man.
2 Bentleys, 70 years apart.
One-off Alfa.
The DB4 Zagato was stuck in its plastic tent, so I didn't to see that up close.
He's since taken delivery of a One-77, so I hope he needs some more wine soon, he enjoys showing off his cars.
My old uncle, grandfather's bother,on the left, used to work at Caproni Aircraft Company,in Milan during the 2nd World War.I guess what kind of car is that seen in the pic.Much probably a Fiat.
Good photo Fabio. I wonder if the car is still around?
Maybe some one has restored it and has it stored away

Rod,
These are amazing car pictures. I assume the owner has a very large high spec garage to look after them.
The Alfa is gorgeous, one of the best looking cars I've ever seen.
I assume he buys very expensive wine with such tastes, and clearly not a drink driver !!
Thanks for the images
Paul

Amazing .... it looks like a cross between a hammerhead shark and a Salvador Dali creation. Would love to see a side profile of it.
