Your Friday Night
Posted by: GraemeH on 18 January 2013
Mine starts with a glass at around 6:45, Channel 4 news then music until 9:00 when a bit of Italy Unpacked reminds me where I lived for a while so that I can escape and lust after the dolce vita.
Yours?

Mine usually starts at 19:00 when I land, then after debriefing and the paperwork is complete, a 45 minute relaxing drive home through rural Hampshire. Today was slightly different because of the snow and reduced visibility !!
Dinner tonight was steak and kidney with a glass of Nuits St G followed by a mixture of working on a Xmas jigsaw puzzle with Mrs D, a browse through the Forum (i've been away for a couple of days with only limited time to login to the forum) and working on a new book with my neighbour.
Because I work Saturdays, its usually an early night. And ditto Sunday.
Cheers

It varies.
But tonight I'm snug in the warm (after freezing my nuts off earlier tonight travelling back from The London Library, where I usually do my writing), enjoying a Glen Campbell doc on BBC 4 after ingesting a lasagne and a glass of Rioja.
Home at 6. Sort out the dogs and rabbit, sit down for dinner with SWMBO. Then into seperate rooms, wife in sitting room catching up on the soaps. Me into the music room with a beer and listen to radio paradise for a couple of hours, and spend time doing some crosswords.
Back to sitting room to watch news and graham norton show.
Hi Guys
I work offshore, so I have a sequence of four Friday nights at work, (no worries), followed by four at home, bliss!
On this particular Friday night, I've been doing the tv catchup thingy, watching Freddie's last live concert performance with Queen in Budapest...........Stunning.......still on BBC iPlayer, I think?
Otherwise, about to flash up the system and listen to some Jack White.
Does it get any better?
Dave.
Just finished teaching a WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) course in St Maarten in the Caribbean to a bunch of young and beautiful (entirely female, coincidentally) yacht crew.
They get transported back to their respective megayachts in a friend's dinghy across the lagoon against a backdrop of an amazing Caribbean sunset.
I come back to our rented villa for a quick dip in the pool, shower, change, gin'n'tonic, and we're off out for a slap up meal at one of the island's many excellent and well priced restaurants. Thai, probably, as I miss that when back home in France.
And I have the weekend to go to the beach and lounge around in the sun.
Someone pays me for this...
But, hey, some of my friends get to play in snow this weekend, and it is frightfully hot here, so I do expect some sympathy.
Not, sadly, an entirely "normal" Friday night, but does happen a few times a year, so I am really a wee bit lucky.
Santé

Had some good friends round for pizza, chat and music. Now watching Glen Campbell on BBC4. My parents had this particular Glen Campbell concert on vinyl and I used to listen to it a lot. I was only seven years old at the time and although I'm not a huge country fan this must have been one of the things that sparked my interest in music.
I do expect some sympathy.
A very sad tale Rod. I sure hope things improve over the weekend.
Cheers

Every friday nite is squash nite. 4 of us have been playing at Purley sports club for more years than i care to remember.used to play singles 5 nites a week but getting a bit to old for that now. After 90 mins its in the bar until closing and cab home. Evening meal is around 11.30pm.
Last nite was the first time in ages i drove as we thought getting a minicab to pick us all up in road conditions would not be easy. Only had 1 and a half pints as a result which must be a record for me.
