Folk Radio UK - appreciation post

Posted by: Jasonf on 25 January 2013

Chaps,

Just a quick note expressing my gratitude to Folk Radio UK for helping me to discover new music...and spending my well earned cash on many new cd.s

Just three fantastic purchases being:

Bhi Bhiman's 'Bhiman' - African Folk/Pop I guess with a particular fondness for the simple and beautiful Guttersnipe, which I am playing a hell of a lot at the moment especially most mornings as it gives me a lift. the rest of the album does not quite reach the heights of this track but....

Mark OReilly's 'My Friend Marx'  British Folk and beautiful acoustic numbers. IMV  would have been my nomination for the Naim HiDef download rather that Meet Me In London as its more universally relevant.

The Cave Singers 'No Witch' - brilliant American electric Blues/Folk/Rock with my particular favourite Hallers Lake.

Have to say, I have found myself moving from Radio Paradise to Folk UK in terms of most listened to radio on I Radio. All the above sounding excellent through the black boxes over the last week.  Am sure there are others to discover...my wife is particularly keen on those stations serving up Jive/Big Band  music.

Perhaps this should also be posted on the Music Room Thread.....
