Just booked for Fleetwood Mac at Manchester

............ and it's £137.50 per ticket  That's more than I paid for Elton John at Leeds and worse seats too. It's all getting out of control.

Nobody forced you to.

Oh yes they did - she's sitting looking at me now

Not at those prices, we saw them 2 years ago so not so bothered.

Admittedly, you could sit at the back with binoculars for £77 or thereabouts, but the seats I've got are by no means up front even at the crazy price I paid. It certainly makes Albert Lee at Leeds City Varieties look good value last year

They were very good even from the far corner of Wembley Arena.

I really enjoyed the gig 4 years and was planning to go again.

But at £137.50? Each.  Not on your nellie.

£137.50 is expensive, especially when you add on the cost of the beer,

You should have booked Calexico at Manchester. That would have cost you £17.50 a ticket.

Songkick prompted me for this one, but Tuesday Night, the drive to Manchester and a soulless Arena venue was enough for me to dismiss it. Your post has left me feeling quite smug.

Rumours on 45RPM Vinyl will have to suffice

I remember seeing the original Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green for less than a quid. No seats, right up against the stage. Brilliant.

I hate big venues and definitely wouldn't pay the over inflated prices they charge now. I saw Santana at the O2 about 10 years ago. The evening cost more than 200 quid, you could barely see the group and the acoustics were abominable. Then I had to get home! Forget it. Never again.

I still enjoy seeing Peter Green live

Unfortunately he's not as good as he used to be. Here's a pic I took of him a few years ago.

I'm getting to be less and less a fan of big arenas but if you want to see certain acts then needs must, So Peter G  and Neil Young at O2. The Wall at Wembley stadium.

Off set by Richard Thompson , Brighton Dome and Barbican ,and Calexico at a new for us venue Brighton Corn Exchange.

Wasn't a dig, honest. I saw Led Zep, The Stones, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and a host of other major bands for not much more than a pound in the early 70s. I saw Fleetwood Mac in Strathclyde Uni Union too. Even allowing for massive inflation ticket prices have just got completely out of hand.

My response has been to refuse to pay.

That's not a venue, this is a venue.

The world famous Tivoli in Brisbane, Australia (well it is now).

This is the sort of venue you want to go to.  Waifs, Gary Numan, Waterboys, Belle & Sebastion, Hoodoo Gurus, Go Betweens.  This place is Brisbane's music heart. and just about the perfect size and almost always great sound/

+1 Tom.

Briz,

I agree that looks like the perfect venue. A place intimate enough that you feel part of the show.
