N-STREAM NOT SEEING UNITI IN WIRED MODE

Posted by: shanbo on 10 February 2013

Hi all.

Looking for some inspiration as getting exasperated now!

The N-stream app refuses to find my Uniti in 'wired mode'. It WILL find it in 'wireless mode' but even in wireless mode when using UPnP it comes up with 'No Servers found'.

The Uniti itself CAN see the server (Synology 12 NAS) when using the remote and when doing so the N-Stream app does show the track playing and seems to recognise the NAS but touch the UPnP symbol on the app and it still says 'No Servers found'. This of course means I cannot select any other music via the app, other then the track playing.

After reading several other posts and being in possession of the seemingly dreaded Virgin Super hub, I invested in a netgear switch in case the cause might be some sort of conflict with the hub. However this has made no difference whatsoever and I think i've wasted my money.

Would be grateful if anyone has got any thoughts or suggestions? Or am I resigned to purchasing a new router?

I believe the cure is to put the Virgin Hub in 'modem only' mode and buy a new wireless router I'm afraid. If I'm wrong, someone will no doubt correct me soon. However, a decent switch is never a waste of money for streaming.

You have not wasted your money, however you purchased the wrong thing. You need a router. You then flick the superdud into modem only mode and let the new router handle the shazam.

The switch still has use assuming you have lots of things that need wires. If not needed stick it in the cupboard until you do need one. The router will have four ports on it, just hook one up to the superdud.

Sorry until you have done that its probably not worth any more diagnosis. Its the superturd, as a turd, its super.
