Looks cool. I think a fairly competent DIYer could build it. Toughest part might be finding the doors, but I think you could substitute a reinforced picture frame and a piano hinge. You could use threaded black pipe and flanges for the legs. Case looks like Ikea type stuff.

Yes. That's why I think these frames are pretty expensive. However, it's a cool idea imho.

Not being the best carpenter in the world, I got a local joiner to custom make mine from Maple veneered blockboard. Wasn't cheap, but the match the n-system. Money well spent, IMO.
