Lost without my naim

I've had to remove the hifi an put it all in the spare room to re decorate the bedroom due to mould on the outside walls. I'm so used to getting home putting the hifi on doing my exercises an chilling out to an album or 2 after. Without the hifi we just have tv an have forgotten how rubbish it is. Within a few days we have turned channels to see the same programme or film or episode again. There's years of good tv out there why repeat the same over an over again. Thank god we are going on holiday an thank god I have just one more coating of paint an Everything can go back in.

When i decorated my music room a couple of years ago, i removed the anaglyptic wallpaper and after much careful cleaning up of the bare walls i painted them with emulsion.

Looks very cool, neat and easy on the eye but i'm sure the room has lost some of it's acoustic ability that it had before.

Wallpaper doesn’t seem to be fashionable these days but I think the thick foamy types can be very beneficial for home audio.

Now I wish I’d left the wallpaper on and simply painted it, would have been a heck of a lot easier too.

I received an e-mail today from Ian at Naim to say my amplifiers were ready to come back to me after their service (recap, volume pots upgrade [can't say I really know what difference this will make, but a hunt here, and the comments from Ian, suggest much, good, and worth it]).

I've been travelling on and off the last five weeks, and have had only three evenings at home last week, but even that, and now, has been enough to frustrate me! The music is coming out of my ipod connected to my zeppelin (both fine products, but the music on my computer is compressed because I only really use it for exercise and when travelling), and I had quite forgotten how useless the speakers on my television are.

Can't wait for next week when I can put everything back together again!

Everything was working fine, and sounded great, but service was long overdue, so am hoping to get that new box thrill all over again. Just so long as it doesn't start any upgradeitis that is...

The amps sold now so no music at all until I get my new amp can't wait. Atleast the room is nicely decorated an I'm nicely relaxed after a holiday.

They can if they want some time out in their own space

but they often crash out in the same room when tired or just chillin'.

They always dine together : )

Awww cool. I'd love a cat but the mrs is scared of them. I would prefer a dog though as grew up with dogs and miss having them. For now I will have to stick with my bearded dragons an all the crazy live feed I have to feed them
