Why so paronoid ?

Why is mediation so anal and fast to remove posting from people ? This is turning many future and current Naim owners off. Time to loosen the restraints EH
Is this padded cell material to ?

The moderation does appear to be onerous here. We have to respect it is a manufacturers site, although another manufacturers site I visit is not moderated as heavily [that one is under moderated IMO which is equally frustrating].
There are plenty of other forums about to join if you don't like this one.
This is a Padded Cell discussion yes - it doesn't fit in Hifi Corner. I will move discussions from one room to another depending on what fits best and where.
Nothing Trigger happy about it. Of course any post that is judged to breach forum rules will be removed.
A discussion had to be removed from Hifi Corner yesterday - that's policy when Naim receive a serious complaint from members about it's content.
We are here as guests of Naim. They are entirely entitled to act as bouncers.

Good form......
However, there was no need.
I did not see what was posted after what I wrote....but.....it appears, something funky is going on.
If a HiFi store that sells naim shows me even the smallest amount of disrespect, it shows on naim in a bad way. Naim should insure those who are their dealers actually follow the agreement , that one out out of fifty do, and insure these sellers are of the highest caliber.
Naim should be told and made aware of any and all issues with their dealers.
As far as mystery shoppers go, like I said, I use them to absolutely insure the experiences my customers get is head and shoulders above all else.
The thread took a curious turn and it got very personal towards a particular member. I received some formal complaints from a few members (and before you ask, no they weren't trade members) so the thread had to be pulled for admin review.
Marc, you should know by now that the only thing that's "funky" when I'm around is what's spinning on the deck.
Huh...so that's what happened to the thread...
Sorry if it caused you any hassle Richard!

Frank.

"Spinning on the deck"
Made me smile.......
I was looking for that thread to see how the discussion was going... oh well. I don't think that the thread itself was in anyway antagonistic and it was a reasonable suggestion. I responded to it quite early on and when I could last looked at it things didn't seem too bad. As with any discussion things can get a bit heated and if the moderators saw fit to pull it based on complaints from other members then that's fine with me. We all have a vote and we can ultimately vote with our feet.
It is my opinion that this forum is not in anyway over moderated and I feel that in general the balance is about right. I do think that there are too many people who feel safe saying things on a computer, in the comfort of their home that they would not say face to face.
My personal rule is that if I wouldn't say it in a face to face discussion then I definitely don't say it on the internet.
Keep moderating guys!

Overall I am happy with the moderation on this forum and feel that Naim is very tolerant and accept that we are their guests.
However now I realise it was the "mystery shopper" thread that was pulled I am a bit concerned. I contributed to that thread in good faith and know from personal experience that some long established Naim dealers are not competent to sell and support streaming products. It may be that some posts were unacceptable (I probably didn't see them all) but if Naim is just trying to sweep this issue under the carpet I think they are making a mistake. Naim is a premium product and customers rightly expect good service in line with what Naim indicates we should receive in their product manuals.
I would hope that the "admin review" would consider deleting the offending posts and then reinstating the thread, The issue will not go away and I see much of that thread as constructive feedback that Naim should take heed of,

I was following this interesting thread. It is apparent it was pulled because of the reasons Richard has stated. I couldn't find things getting 'very personal towards a particular member' but that person does obviously have the right to contact Richard.
Seems a shame though to kill the whole debate.
Myself - never had anything but great service from Naim dealers.
I guess Naim caters to one way of thinking only? This forum is tied to Facebook ? Being vulgar is one thing, sharing with people on a forum some funny's within a boundary of class is another. I have many new and great thing to share with music lovers. Being hesitant to do so here, is a loss stream of acquired experiences and knowledge of the real world, that many can relate to. Small thing can change, for the better a way of openness toward friendships around the world. Being your self in the now is an amazing way to be. For myself the only way. The youtube vid I shared with you was liked by many on my music nut Facebook group. Sorry if it offended some here, it was not my intention.
It's a shame that the Rega RP8 and Kudos Super 20 threads weren't reinstated following some expurgations. They both contained helpful information.

They do have the resource of Focal to make a great speaker to complement a Nait or UnitiQute. At a $1000 USD the profit margin between the 3 players to the end user is not great but will reward having an IBL house sound minimum.
The box count at naim is at over 50 now. In 10 years time will these boxes have parts available for upkeep or repair ? Naim has gained great costumer satisfaction from the first box made. With the complexity and part count of boxes made today, will this be dinosaur bones of audio like many other audio boxes on this planet ? How many great boxes are covered in are land fills today by only a simple fix of 1 part ?

One person's music is another one's noise. We've had people love it and hate it...!
