Hi, just woke up from hibernation ;-)
Posted by: MilesSmiles on 25 February 2013
Hi folks,
As some of you may know I moved back to the US last summer and before you know it we are in 2013 and I haven’t logged in since last July. We gotta change this – I’m back with a vengeance.
Bring me up to speed, what important forum gossip did I miss???
Cheers from New York City … Oliver
On the minus side, Stu's gone, Guy also it seems, and Hook is taking a break
On the plus side, many new and interesting folks have joined.
Browsing through some of the threads some old familiar names pop up, but I almost feel like a newbie again.
Welcome back Oliver! Yes, some folk have gone (hopefully temporarily), other have joined. That's life, things either move on or stagnate.
Your contributions will be very welcome, as always.
Thanks, good to be back. Looking forward to see what folks are listening to these days and the concerts they went to ... and for a little fun in the Padded Cell.
Hi Oliver, welcome back.
Same sh1t, different year!
Have fun reminiscing

Polar Bear is still hibernating.
Welcome back. G
... and I thought male Polar Bears are not supposed to hibernate.
Hi Oliver,
Welcome back to the mad-house.
Do you have another nice big room there for your system? Any changes?
I have fond memories of your kind hospitality and fab UK sound.
John.
John,
I'm still in search of a new big listening room - most of my stuff is still in boxes. Sigh.
I sold the Wilson Sophia 2s just before I left the UK. Once I have a new room I will audition for new speakers.
Hi Oliver, good to see you back. We have had brief FB contact over the past months , is it really nearly 6 months?
Time flies, couldn't believe I hadn't logged in since July.
Good to see you back around these parts Oliver.
WIll be interested to hear about your speaker auditions.
John
Welcome back Oliver !
Regarding forum gossips, well... Rips are (not) bit perfect, WAV is (not) better than FLAC or AIFF, streamers are (not) better than CD players, hi-res files are (not) better than vinyls, Ethernet cables do (not) make a difference, SuperNAIT is (not) better than 202/200 and (not) better than Nait XS, Unitis are (not) upgradeable, the product line is (not) too crowded, Black is (not) better than Olive or CB, Ovators are like marmite, the NDS is (not) better than the DAC or the KDS/1, the Reference DAC is (not) coming, NACA5 is stiff, George loves his Nait 5i-2 and ESL57s, Peter is wonky, Guy loathes Windows but knows even more than before about music, Stu's MIA, PB still has the same speakers, a few ectic trolls come and go, very knowledgeable people are a real pleasure to read, a lot of new pals with streaming questions, the 'What are you listening...' thread is still running, folks still like good music, their system, nice photos, soccer, rugby, jokes and cars, I'm forgetting much, I'm still running a mullet... and it's nice to see you back!
Not much really.

Fab summary!!
John
Thanks guys, but I'm feeling really ashamed as I forgot the most important:
Our Lady Kuma still reigns as the undisputed Queen of Vinyl, our Nymph still inhabits with grace the olive landscapes and black fields, Eloise shows that digital geekery is not only for boyz, Clare (with a little help from Gary) revives the love for the 252, we miss the green boots, I'm forgetting (not so) many... and ladies remain the exception to the rule of this game of gentlemen.
With my most contrite apologies, Miladies.
Maurice
PS: And Howard is still #1 !
