Aqualung - 40th Anniversary Special Edition

Got this CD today and the quality of its production is miles and miles better that the 20th Anniversary Edition I had previously.  I can now properly enjoy this classic Tull album once more.  And for that I owe a very big thank-you to J.N who recommended it to me - cheers, John!

Glad you like it. Ian Anderson and the band were never happy with the original recording. Steven Wilson has had the good sense to make the absolute best of what is available; remastering it sympathetically, not compressing it too much, and leaving the tape hiss in.

It's rare for me to encounter a remaster which improves on an original recording, but this surely does.

Steven Wilson's 'TAAB' remaster is pretty good too.

Agreed re both albums. It's a splendid effort and the 24/96 stereo files on the versions that include DVD-A are good too. It's all good.
