ND5XS streaming problems

On an earlier post I explained that I had lost my n-stream app capabilities due to having an older iPod touch. As a result I have moved over to using the synology DS Audio app via my Google Nexus 7 and controlling volume via naim remote.  All music on synology 212j and wired connection to nd5xs.

However I am experiencing some problems that the forum may help with.

When I stop the music, after a brief pause, it starts up again. When I switch to TV input (my TV is connected to digital input of nd5xs) the sound from TV plays, but then the input reverts back to upnp on nd5xs and last track starts to play.

I was able to test stream app using my sons iPhone and all works OK. Is there some setting that I am missing when trying to use an android app like DS audio or indeed bubble upnp?
