N-serve manual

Where can I get a manual for the N-serve app?

Not seen one myself - is there anything you want to know in particular?

I just wanted to know about the 'settings' options, and there are two icons on the top line which I am not sure about. I have already discovered how to generate a random playlist of 500 tracks, but this is not documented anywhere, that I know of.

Come to think of it, a manual for the Desktop Client would be useful as well.

David, I know where you're coming from with this thread. I've been struggling a bit with the new n-Serve for Mac application, and with some of the other UnitiServe apps. I emailed naim support asking if there was a manual and also listing some of my issues, in line with the advice on the webpage where you download n-Serve for Mac. I received no reply, so I guess my email was snagged by naim's mook filter!

All Naim manuals are available for download here:

Thanks Pev. I know where the manuals are but I didn't see any for these 2 Apps.

Does the random playlist generation thing work in n-stream too?  How is it done?  Presumably it takes random tracks from your entire collection?

Gavin,

I dont know anything about Nstream, as I only have a Unitiserve. In n-Serve you go to the top of the Albums list, select 'play', and then 'play tracks randomly' (I think this is the sequence, but I'm relying on my sometimes faulty memory!!). The result is that it makes a selection of 500 tracks (how randomly, I don't know, but it seems pretty good), and starts to play them. You can see the entire playlist by hitting the album cover on the top right. It's a great way of reminding yourself of what you haven't listened to for ages, and great for background.
