Universal Store FLAC download spec?

Found this link if you navigate to MP£ sections albums are available as FLAC. Not usre what flavour but there is a huge roster and a stack of FLAC downloads. The Who, Metallica etc. Anyone know what the FLAC format is, if it is all 96/24 then this is pretty good?

Interesting site - as you say, more than just the usual stuff.

From the site FAQ: "The quality for our MP3 downloads is 256k. Our FLAC downloads are encoded to CD quality (from 16 bit/44.1 kHz)"

I still can't understand why a download of say Who live at Leeds is £7.99 to download but I can buy a physical CD sent through the post from Amazon for around a fiver!

Shame, Master of Puppets as a 96/24 would be interesting. Like you say physical CD at £5 rip to FLAC/WAV 44.1/16, can't quite understand this either.

I am hoovering up DVD-A online and ripping to 96/24, The Who Tommy sounds tremendous.
