Could we start a Blues Thread?

Along the lines of the excellent “What is your pick for the 'grooviest' jazz album ever” I am aware the there is one or two Blues aficionados on the forum. So I will leave them to post first if that’s ok. Would also like to wish you all a Happy Easter.

Regards Graham.

Mose Allison, another one of my favourites, always puts a smile on my face.

Wiki says

He influenced Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits, The Yardbirds, John Mayall, J. J. Cale, The Who (Who made "Young Man Blues" a staple of their live performances and used it to open their original Live at Leeds album), and Georgie Fame. But don't let that put you off.

Bonnie Raitt did a superb cover of Allisons Everybody's Cryin' Mercy.

So you do like some influential artists fatcat.  Good choice.

Listening to this great album of a British recording by Lightnin' Slim.

Sorry about the quality of the photo but it's a rare record and there aren't many pics on Google.

Another Blue Horizon treasure. A beautifully recorded album.

The list of artists influenced by Allison came from wikipedia, but I'm not convinced it's correct.

I've heard quite a lot of stones, mayall and who records and I can't see that their music has been influenced by Allison. Maybe if an artist covers another artists songs, they class that as being influenced.

However, I can hear Allison influence on Fame.
