It's very difficult to choose with Leonard Cohen's body of work, as he manages to condense so much meaning into so few words. His take on dying is sublime :

I totaly agree, Cohen's body of work is so full of great lyrics it's realy difficult to choose a favourite, though " I ache in the places where I used to play ", I am sure resonates with others not just me!
