Rare Beatles Album Sold

A copy of Sgt Pepper has been bought at auction in the US for $290,500 (£191,000)

Its rated as one of the top two Beatles memorabilia items

Makes me wonder what my very tatty cover & scratched record of Beatles for Sale with a smudged Macca signature would be worth ?? Maybe buy a copy of the latest release ???

Why is it so rare.

I have a rare copy of pepper, but like your Beatles for sale, the cover is not in pristine condition.

Its reported as UK Parlophone with high gloss cover and gatefold sleeve - just like my Stg Pepper - sadly that where my story ends

According to the Hollywood Reporter its in pristine as new nick & autographed by all four Beatles especially for its release in June 1967.

Its like fine art I guess, but maybe more than a little over-obsessed to pay the price of a fully loaded 3 Fraim stack system for a record that you will probably not actually play.

I guess someone really had to have it. It seems a little insane to me, but if they have the money and that's what makes them happy more power to them.
