N stream and apple devices

Posted by: unclegaz on 03 April 2013

Evening all,
Does the NDX get confused when you use multiple apple devices using n stream to control it? My iPhone wouldn't connect it tried but wouldn't go higher than 16%. Eventually I restarted the NDX and all is fine again. Incidentally I used the iPad to control it a few days ago.

Not completely an identical situation, here in our house are two iPad's and two iPod Touch devices with n-Serve. The HDX has no problem dealing with all these. Occasionally, n-Serve gets frozen but a quick reboot fixes this...

No problems with the HDX in my case...

Regards,

Michel

Gary, indeed if you try and navigate at the same time say on iPhone and iPad on the NDX, on one of the devices you get server not found.. Switch Nstream off on one device and the other device all works ok again. If Nstream is 'dormant' on an apple device; ie it's loaded but not actively being used, then all seems ok. I think it's to do with the discovery method/algorithm used.

This is my experience too.  Two copies of nStream active at the same time, one two iPhones or and iPhone and an iPad, and one stops responding.

Thanks all.
To be clear I only use one device at any given time. Interestingly the app allowed me to connect to Internet radio but not upnp.
Very strange.
