Fun Day in Puget Sound

Posted by: joerand on 05 April 2013

Working out of town all week scored me a comp day Friday.  A local Naimer was selling a HL I wanted and he was kind enough to invite me in to hear 500-level gear, Ovators, and an LP12.  I'm just not sure if I was more blown away by the sound of the gear, the view of the Sound, or the architecture of the house.  They were each spectacular.

From there I drove a few miles to Easy Street Records and bought vinyl.  Walked across the street for a great cup of java from a small roaster.  Then down a block for a slice with red onions, kalamata olives, basil, goat cheese, and marinara.  Across the street for a loaf of whole grain bread.  Out the door into my car and back to my neck of the woods in 45 minutes.  Now playing my new LPs using my new HL on the Stageline.  Fun Friday.  Life is fine.

I don't know where you are but it's also an equally lovely day here in sunny Surrey uk. I'm re discovering my cd collection through my recent upgrades and then off to a record shop in Guildford to trade up some old vinyl and hopefully by some more I might even go out on the bike if the weather stays like this. Thanks, Mike

I was in West Seattle, the southwest portion of Seattle. Everyone should have a day like that on occasion.  Makes all the hard work we do to afford this hobby worthwhile.  Cheers.

Great post Joerand!  Your day hit pretty much every one of my check boxes. If it ends in the arms of a loved one, then I'd say it was just about perfect!  ;-)

ATB.

Sounds like a great day joerand. Making me want to plan a trip down to Seattle to visit some vinyl shops this summer....haven't been there much since the "grunge days" in the early 80's.
