Can't believe this is happening??!!
Wot?
totem may be referring to something that has happened to me a couple of times. I enter a post and get a message back saying that my post has been referred to the administrators for approval--something like that. But in both instances, my post was approved. It doesn't really bother me too much, totem, since whoever owns the site the forum is on has the right to restrict it any way they want. Also, I can be pretty outrageous and almost always my sense of humor is of extremely questionable taste. But I can see how it might be annoying. The odd thing is that if there were any identifiers by keyword, the two posts that were referred were among the less tasteless, obnoxious, or borderline obscene of any of mine. And both were approved after a day or so. Perhaps Richard can shed some light on what is being looked for--so we can avoid offending--or not.
If this is not what you were referencing, totem, then, never mind!
Best regards,
Russ
What Russ is referring to happened to me, once, last week. When trying to post, I got a message that my post had to be approved. Given how much I post, and that this happened just once, I'm not sure what that was about -- whether the board software flags something, or what.
Yes, it would be nice to know
Meridian has censored my posts on their forum. Never Naim. Not yet anyway.
There are certain words or letter combinations that the site will automatically disallow by changing them when you try to post. Offensive words, curse words, etc, sparing us from profanity. I came across it quite innocently (of course) when I misspelled a word.
If you try sending an email address on Agon's internal messenger between users it will get flagged.
To give this post some perspective, in 3,621 posts this has NEVER happened to me; maybe I am just a good boy [most of the time]! IME, if you follow the forum rules you wont have any issues.
Pleased to know about it.
Some of my posts need close scrutiny by Naim's thought-police.

I have been censured/censored once when I inquired about an interesting-looking guitar in the background of a system photo. The owner responded by asking me if I wanted to buy it. I directed him off-forum, but was censured/censored. My posts were directed to the moderator for a few days until I inquired as to why.
I (as well as a few others) also received a wrist slap (smackdown?) for expropriating another members' avatar as part of what we (mistakenly) thought was a gentle and humorous ribbing.
Otherwise, I find that Naim are pretty tolerant of criticism of their equipment on this forum, but are intolerant of abusive behaviour. This is as it should be.
Relax. The naughty word filter sometimes sends posts to the moderation queue. Normally I'd catch it pretty quickly, but I have to sleep sometime. Anyway, that's what happened here and your post (well, one of the many identical ones) is up.
All those posts and never a slapped wrist is amazing.

Now, I never said that did I?
, erm, not quite!
That's strange, I have just checked and I still have 3,621 posts, two posts later?
Can hoopless count I wonder?

Totem might be exclaiming the wonders on modern filtering software and enthusiastically congratulating Naim for using it?...........maybe not. G
Graeme, sadly there are a few words that have to be filtered. Unfortunately the filter can be a a bit overzealous and will read words within words, or parts of a word and then flag up for approval. I'm usually reasonably quick to OK, but not at 3am BST...
Poor old richard even works on the Sabath.

Thanks Richard. In hindsight I'm much more comfortable with the moderated post, I think I overreacted a bit, might have been that bottle of red
All good and thanks again

When we first went over to Hoopla the word jazz was a bad word that got zapped by the big brother machine & considering some topics in the Music Room it was a bit too enthusiastic. It seems about right now.
Should have substituted Jizz then
