N-stream for pc

Posted by: stpierre76 on 21 April 2013

Hi all, I have the qute and been enjoying it immensely but only have been using the supplied remote so far. I have a iPad and iPhone but they are work supplied , thus I am not the account holder and as a result can not download any apps. I ve asked for it at work, and though they trust me and even considered doing a favor they can not allow it as if somebody got hold of me having a app it may open the door to conflicts. So is there a way around it. Can. Use my computer to have n stream or different version in order to fully control the qute and be able to see what is playing, what is queued...... My wife as a samsung phone, so when the android version is out it ll be a little easier but until then I don t really want to go and buy a iPad,iPhone or iPod just to be able to use it as a remote. Regards Jean

Have a look at Asset uPnP server. You can try it for free.

Asset is a great server but Nstream is a control point and until Naim get off their backsides and port Nstream to Android the best substitute for Nstream is probably Bubbleupnp - available on free trial and less than a fiver to buy. The only thing it can't do that Nstream can is switch inputs. Volume control works on my SU and Bubbleupnp also has fast forward and reverse within tracks which Nstream doesn't.
