Guys,
Jst had. Look at an archive video that Naim have posted on youtube.
It is archive footage of the Naim set up from 1989 and makes very interesting viewing

Tony, just do a search on Naim 1989 Youtube. What's most interesting about the old factory tour video is just how much has remained the same.
My first factory tour must have been around that time. If memory serves it was on a Sunday, we were welcomed into a room playing LP12, 6 pack 135s into 'Bariks.
Then off around the factory, none of that girly ESP stuff then.
It's worth following Naim on Twitter for #throwbackfriday.
Some real gems get aired.
Maybe they were the trendy ones and you were the "fuddy duddy"
It was a great video, I really enjoyed it. I was in Salisbury for a factory tour 6 months ago and a lot if it seemed strangely familiar to me, as Richard alluded to above, and in some cases, the personnel also!
Ah, the days when Naim made proper stereos, not this newfangled computery stuff.

Dear Nigel,
Allowing for a slightly - though not hugely - more complex set up my MAC Mini and DAC V1 comprehensively improve on what my CDS II ever brought to the party, and that was with a 52 and SBLs. Am I to understand that all the benefit is the result of having ESL 57 [over the SBLs] the other side of the NAP 100?
Possibly yes and possibly no. CD replay using an on the fly error correction is inherently less fine than an accurate rip to your player of choice on a computer ...

I disagree iMac and V-1 not upto CDSII IMO.
So we disagree.
Nothing new that there is a disagreement on the Forum, and that does not make you right.

PS: Perhaps your speakers are not telling enough of the truth?
PPS: And perhaps the iMAC is not the MAC Mini! So many imponderables ...

I think they are correctly referred to as "radiograms".
I once owned a Naim 12s pre amp and was always amused by the "Gram" input. This description seemed quaint and dated even then!
Sounded lovely with a bolt down 160 though.

Somthing like this, I suppose!
It was labelled GRAM when it came with a DIN input for phono. Then a case revision and phono RCAs arrived along with a change to PHONO on the input selector. Some NAC12s like my own were updated and had phono RCAs fitted for the phono input, but of course, the input selector is still labelled GRAM. It's quite a neat update as it frees up a DIN cut-out for fitting a DIN5 for dual-railing (Officially done by Naim, of course)...
Richard, not sure if this job was done by Naim or not. I don't know about your upgrade but in mine I find it interesting and peculiar that the RCA inputs are not marked red/black for right/left channels.
Tony, I'm not sure but I can say that the RCAs fitted by Naim to my NAC12 have a hexagonal rear flange and white centres. However both types were fitted to later pre-amps like the NAC32 before the arrival of BNCs with the .5 updates, so....
Richard, I managed to dig up a little bit more of its history. It was upgraded in 1982, the same time the original owner purchased a brand new LP12(which I ended buying because I wanted the NAC12/NAP120) from a north London dealer which happens to be my local Naim dealer. It's all beginning to make sense. Thanks for the help and patience.
P.S Apologies to Paul for highjacking his post!
No worries Tony. Must be nice looking through those rose tinted glasses
Can't wait to see what platter you connect to the phono's
