Track Listing

Posted by: TJSTAR on 03 May 2013

Hi, When I rip to my NAS using DBPowerAmp I have set it so the No. of the track appears on the drive so it appears as so:

01. First Song Title

02. Second Song Title

03. Third Song Title etc...

However, when I load up N-Stream on my iPad, the tracks appear in alphabetical Order and the Numbers have disappeared. I deliberately set it so it wouldn't do this. The track orders appear correctly in the music folders on my NAS

Has anybody else experienced this or have found an answer to the problem?

Regards,

Trevor...

Hello. I have joined this forum in the hope that someone can help me with a problem with the track numbers on MP3 files. I have a Naim Unitilite which is is streaming from a WD Myduo Live. I have converted all my CDs to AIFF using dnPoweramp and the tracks are all listed and play in numerical order. However all the albums that I have in MP3 are listed alphabetically as others have mentioned here. This is also true when the Unitilite reads from my PC. Can anyone suggest a way of getting these MP3 albums to play in the correct order?

Thanks in anticipation.

Andy

  • Under folder view Twonky displays the songs in Alphabetical order, not the order listed on the particular album that we all want.
  • Twonky refuse to change this.
  • Twonky say that the tracks are in the correct order from the album in other views such as Album View or Artist View. This statement is correct.
  • However the problem is that we want this to be like this in "Folder View" as this is the only workable view to search the artist as loaded as per our CD collection.
  • Alphabetical order in folder view is only useful for photos and documents and not for music as we want the songs to be played in the order intended.
  • Twonky won't change this or at least provide this option that other DNLA servers do.

Hope this helps clarify where we are with this. The only thing I can therefore suggest is that we all put pressure on Twonky (maybe via your NAS manufacturer such as QNAP) to provided this for us.

  • The only alternative to using a different DNLA server completely such as Plex, is for Naim to provide us the option in N-Stream to hide the track numbering from the side which will mean if we edit the tags in MP3 tag it will show correctly.
  • Simples....

Hi TJSTAR,

This problem is due to the way the views for "folder" are written.  If you are ok with modifying the file, there is a solution that you can google and add to the folder view:  http://community.twonky.com/tw...rder_my_music_tracks

Go to the Twonky folder on the NAS

I did this and everything works perfectly.

Good luck!

Anthony

PS: If you are not comfortable doing this, I would ask someone who is familiar  with writing code or modifying files in Windows
