Ray Harryhausen passes

Sad news of Rays passing. He was a colossus, master of stop motion animation, a stamp of approval if the film had animation by Ray Harryhausen. An inspiration to so many animators to come.

The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, Vally of the Gwangi and my personal favourite THe 7th Voyage of  Sindbad.

At least his archive will survive him.

R.I.P. Ray.

A legend in his field. (In "Monsters Inc.", Pixar paid tribute to him by naming the restaurant where Mike takes Celia "Harryhausens".)

Went to a talk he gave at Brighton Film Theatre in approx 1974 when I was still at school. He had an infectious love for animation and he seemed like a humble chap. One of the true movie greats.

Colossus was indeed one of his animated figures too. G
