DAC-V1

Posted by: Šaf Caan on 11 May 2013

Hi, does the DAC-V1 allow for Unity Gain for connecting a AV amp? If not, what could I use to remedy this?

In addition, would a Mac Mini be equal in quality to the Unitiserve? I'd like to stick to Itunes for my music playback but with max. quality.

Could the NAP 100 can be substituted for another power amp to allow for more power?

Thanks

I have been using the V1 with a Mac mini and NAP200 for a week now, and it is brilliant.  No experience with AV, so cannot comment on that ...

Good to know... I'll experiment with a NAP 200.

NAP 200 is an often under-appreciated AMP - flexible and very easy to live with but often overshadowed by its big brother the 250.2.

I can certainly vouch for the NAP200. To my ears, room  and speakers it was  more preferable than the 250.2. I found the latter sounding a little processed and overly rich. The 200 has a beautiful natural balance with natural sounding dynamics. However if you have bass/lower mid  light speakers, or small speakers in a large room,  the 250.2 could be preferable to the 200.
