n-Stream app wish list

1. Tracks ratings. Just like in iTunes. It helps to sort out favs
2. Tag editing (though not sure if this can be implemented under uPnP
3. Smart playlist creation. Again, copy paste feature from iTunes!
4. Universal random playlist creation
5. Big fixing in cover art presentation in iOS
to be continued.....!
I would like to see n-stream work on a macbook.
ANDROID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANDROID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seconded......
ANDROID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, number 4 please.
Don't care about playlists and ratings, but I care about improved stability. n-Stream crashes all the time.
Otherwise, I want a slider that lets me drag to playback any timepoint in a track (I believe streamer support for that is coming in June).

Hear, hear
And before the spelling police come around...yes, that's what I meant to type.

#2 is a question of tagging, not of the n-stream!

FF/FR here too. Anything else will be a happy bonus.

According to Naim's latest announcement on upcoming product and software:
"Firmware 3.21 will also enable Seek2Time on all Naim music streaming products, allowing you to scroll through tracks during playback."
As mentioned elsewhere it would be nice if the player honoured the track progression of an album sequentially rather than alphabetically as is the case currently...
Also I believe that the desktop/tablet Clients could be merged into one - I don't really see the need for two separate apps.
Also Naim could help us out by explaining exactly how they deal with Album images in N-Stream - precedence of cover.jpg/folder.jpg/embedded art, recommended picture sizes etc.

Which I mentioned in the post you quoted. But it's ambiguous whether that is just in the streamer products, or if there will also be a n-Stream upgrade at the same time to enable the feature remotely.

It will be even better if the album cover display in Artist / Album view can be determined by user. Because listing order begins with numerical followed by alphabetical, all those artists featuring in "50 best of Blue Note" will have the same display making it difficult to find the artist I want by just glancing album covers.

That's more likely a problem with your UPnP server. I had that issues with Twonky, and had to hack the config files to get it working correctly. I ended up abandoning Twonky because due to general flakiness.

I too think Naim's announcement can be clearer but from what they said it appears that nStream upgrade is not necessary. We will know soon enough when the software becomes available.
The firmware upgrade allows it to be done, n-Stream operates it, otherwise what would be the point? So, yes there will be an upgrade to n-Stream as well (unless it's already built in, witness the Uniti 2 which can already do this via n-Stream, I believe).
Yes, probably, maybe. I'll accept that as fact when I see it.
I still have to do firmware updates with archaic Windows software that uses serial protocols (you know, like what they used in the previous millennium?). I'm not making any assumptions about what makes sense software-wise from Naim until it is in hand.

I suspect tha you're trying to navigate by folder rather than one of the other options such as 'album artist', or 'album'. If you do it by ne of these, then as long as the ID3 tag has the correct trck number, then you will hear the tracks sequentially

Unless you use Twonky, which is broken in this regard.
Elsewhere on this forum I documented a fix for that, which requires hacking a Twonky xml configuration file.

I have Twonky 7.0.9 and Asset. Both function correctly as regards track order when I use them.

It's broken in 6 and 7. Maybe you don't use the folder browser, or haven't noticed. But it is not an imagined problem. The problem and fix are dicussed in several places.
I had the exact issue, and when I applied the described patch it was fixed.
Quite right. I don' t use the folder option. Never seen any reason to.

I only use the folder browser option. My digital music library is mostly classical, so I prefer to use my my own organization, reflected in the folder structure: genre->composer->works
