282/200 FLASHING LIGHT/INOPERABLE HELP!

Hi,

I'm suffering an identical problem to a seemingly similar, unresolved post I found here :

The source cd, record AUX1 and record mute light is on, while the source mute button is blinking. There is nothing I tried on the front panel or remote control handset will change it. The preamp is just not reponsive at all. The NAPSC/200 should be sufficient to make the 282 work - is it broken or am I being inept?

I suspect you are missing a link plug. Check the manual to see the correct configuration.

Ah - no 5-pin link plug Hopefully that's it!

Hmm - thx James - I just have a plastic 4-pin thing that sits in port 'link2' and just covers port 'upgrade 2'. But it seems to be per the manual? I found a post elsewhere quoting a 5-pin link plug?

You'll need one of these. Is it still in the box? If not, your dealer should be able to supply a new one for you.

You may also need one of these if it's missing;

edit: OK, looks like you have the second one, so just a 5 pin link plug needed.

I found a picture on the 'net (perhaps belonging to member here?) of the rear panel of the NAC282 showing where the link plugs fit;

Many thanks Richard - yes, it's clearly the 5-pin that's missing. Regrettably not hiding in box. I'll visit my dealer tomorrow & hope that clears all.
