I will.

19 years ago I was part of the 50th anniversary parachute landings onto the original drop zones.

I'd only arrived in 3 PARA from basic training less than a month before. Very memorable.

Nice thoughts TMP

My dad was a training instructor with 2nd OBLI.  His training unit converted 2nd OB & other OB regiment units to airlanding battlefield tactics in the big build up of the A.A.C.

He got frustrated with training men for action & never seeing any himself & volunteered for the Parachute Regiment - 10th Battalion - & KIA at Arnhem.

I used to know a few of the old Pegasus Bridge boys who were great buddies with dad from territorial days thru to D-Day, sadly all passed on now.

Cheers Lads

On top of wine toasting you could also read the excellent book that just came out about the last stage of WW II in France and Germany, starting with D Day. Rick Atkinson is an outstanding writer.
