Massive Lipsynch delay

Posted by: Neil Bennett on 11 June 2013

Having chopped in my AV2/DVD5/250.2/200/145 a couple of years ago for the simplicity of an Arcam AVR600 and (now) BDP300, suddenly a few days ago the Lipsynch went out horribly on the Sky input to the AVR through HDMI/digital coaxial audio, beyond even the max. setting. Any ideas what can cause this? No cables were changed though the cabinet was moved out/in again to accommodate the insertion of the BDP300 (replacing the 100).

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Do Sky update on the fly or does it have to be done by the user. If the former, maybe they made changes at their end causing the problem. Could be worth looking around the AVF forum as well to see if anyone else is getting the same problem. I get the occasional channel LS problem too on the Virgin TiVo box but it's never affected all of them.

Worth checking the thread 'in praise of Sky' just below. Sounds like Sky have been updating the audio outputs... Cheers, Rack.

Thanks; will try setting different audio output options tonight and see what difference that makes.

Because of the lipsynch delay I connect the Sky to the TV by HDMI and then the TV to the pre amp by Phono out from the TV.
