Unitiqute 2 vs Unitilite for KEF LS50

Posted by: Paulie S on 12 June 2013

Hi to all.

Struggling with the choice. I like the extra power and extra inputs on the Unitilite but struggling with price difference and the fact that the cd on the Unitilite will probably never be used. I could get by with the number of inputs on the Qute. Have experienced users noticed that much of a difference the added power gives. Any other differences I am unaware of? Thoughts? (Before I drive 4 hours for audition.) Anyone using either of these with Kef LS50's? I was leaning to the DAC V-1 and NAP 100 but want streaming options, iPad connectivity and at least one analog input would be nice to have.

Thanks to all. I'm excited to enter the Naim community of owners.

I've used the KEF LS50s on the end of a Qute (albeit briefly) and they sounded superb.

They are a very special speaker.

The Qute sounds a lot more powerful than its specs suggest.

If it suits then go for it.

I think one listen of the Qute/KEF combination will convince you. And you can always add more power later if wanted.

I can't comment on the Kefs you mention. Over the years our Qute has driven a range of speakers from small floorstanding speakers like the Neat Motive 2 through to a range of bookshelf speakers like n-Sats with excellent results. In many ways the Qute is my favourite product from Naim, and we've owned more than a few!
