"Tracks not located on server" problem

Posted by: ken c on 16 June 2013

Hi Guys,

how does one get around the following problem:

I have a playlist and when I open it, some tracks are marked with an 'x' on the right hand side on my iPad running nStream in a uServeSSD/NDS config, both hardwired into the router.

The specific error message when I select a track for playing is:

"This track cannot be located on the server. Do you wish to remove

just this track

all missing tracks

cancel

"

I want to do neither of the above. I want to play the track that is what I put it in a playlist!

Any hints gratefully received.

Many thanks

enjoy

Ken,

Are the tracks on the SSD?

Can you select the tracks individually from the album list?

If yes, might be that you just need to power down and up again, and the playlists would be re established.

thanks. but power 'what' down? the U/S, I guess?

but why does this issue arise? number of playlists above a certain limit?? or what?

Power off and on your iPad.  This has fixed it for me!

Do you have the same issues if you use the dtc?

I will check. dtc is only used for maintenance with NDS/UServe setup. so I am not sure whether this issue will show up in the dtc, but I have a look anyhow..

Ken,

As per my previous query, can you select individual tracks from album heading and play them ( i mean the same track as on the playlist).

If so it would suggest that the playlist has got corrupted and need to add track again and delete previous one with x against it.

If unable to access individual track as above, would suggest some tracks have been re catalogued by the u/s.
