Who's your favourite Floydian?

Just for fun, here's a poll for fans of Ye Olde Pinke Floyde to nominate their favourite group member, or the one who has made the biggest contribution to the group (more tricky than it seems, because, like all great bands, the magic depended on chemistry - Nick Mason, for example, may not be the world's best drummer or most prolific writer, but he was the perfect drummer for the Floyd, and in many ways was the glue that held them together).

Difficult. I went for Nick Mason as I've met him a number of times socially and he's such a nice bloke.

Shallow I know.

I've met him too Steve, he is a lovely guy, and very funny. Rick was a super chap, but very nervy. Dave was charming but very controlled, while Rog was a gift to journalists, happy to spout on about any subject...

My vote for David Gilmour.

Gilmour's lead guitar epitomizes the psychedelic sound I associate with PF; engaging, dreamy, ethereal. I love his signature guitar sound when he has worked outside PF as well. Roger Waters is great as lyricist and maybe group glue, but he sings just slightly better than RIngo .
