For about 2 weeks I have had a digital coax Chord Sarum TA cable. It sounds fantastic.
To connect the cable I needed a small converter plug as I understand it a bnc to RCA connector, since the Sarum Ta is using RCA connectors. In a blog post it is hintet that such a converter is degrading sound. I am considering contacting Chord to find out if it is worth to have the one RCA plug changed to BNC, but is it worth the effort and probably extra price? I hope I have googled the correct plug names!

Hi Claus, just a potential gotcha, if you are asking someone to terminate a cable with a BNC, check it's a 75ohm characteristic impedance plug, as BNCs commonly come with two distinct impedances; 50 ohm and 75 ohm. It should match the CI of your cable and sockets for optimum performance which for SPDIF should be 75 ohm.

Thanks for the answers, Richard would it be best to get bnc to bnc since the Dac has both types, or just bnc 75 ohms for the ns01 connection?

Claus, I'm told that adaptors are best avoided.
As simon correctly states, there are 50ohm BNCs (used by Naim for phono terminations) and 75ohm BNCs (used for digital s/pdif connections and also for video connection). I would recommend you have Chord make the change here.
