Mothership Listing In Database

Posted by: Gavin B on 19 January 2011

Just bought LZ's Mothership CD for the car (cheap, the CD, not the car).  My car has a fancy hard disk system that lets you record the disc for later playback.  It incorporates some sort of database to allow the artist and album details to be looked up.  I stuck disc 1 in, and it promptly identified it as disc 2.  I checked I'd got the right disc, and sure enough it was playing the music for disc 1.  The titles are the 11 tracks from disc 2, and tracks 12 and 13 are just labelled 1 and 2.  For newer discs it lets me do a fancy online look-up, but since it found the details in its internal database, it won't let me manually look it up again.  The details can't be overtyped either - oh well!

Anyone else experienced something annoying like this?

Guess I'll have to see if I can have the database updated.

Gavin,

the more important questions is why would you torture a good car with this horribly compressed disc?

Sorry, long running gripe many of us have towards the butched mastering of Mothership on CD. Maybe it is the silent protest of your CD player after all.

Yes, I agree about the sound, but I'm not sufficiently into LZ to make buying the individual albums again on CD worth it.
