How do you insert quotes?

Hi everyone,

I'm obviously doing something daft but I can't seem to be able to get the quotes button to work.
I've tried highlighting text on the source page then using the quote button on the reply page. I've tried cutting and pasting it to the reply window before highlighting it and hitting the quote button, but no joy. Can anyone putme right please?

Why get rid of the "Quote" button anyway? And what is the "permalink" button for?
The new forum doesn't meet the standard of the old one as yet IMHO. Grrrr

Hi Steve

For many of us it just does not work. Best to take a look at the 'New Forum Feedback' thread to see what I mean. Be warned it is growing in length by the minute! I would have posted a link to it but there is no 'Post Hyperlink' button that I can see.

For an explanation of the ‘Permalink’ button see the ‘Forum Top Tips’ thread. I would try and explain but not sure I am clear how it is used.
