Too many threads on lockdown . . .what's wrong?

Posted by: Max Bass on 20 January 2011

Wanted to post in the Best of 2010 thread but noticed it is locked down, along with many others.  Also, the pages have been limited to only one resulting in limited number of responses.   Will this be permanent or a temporary side effect of the new forum switch over?

Thanks,
Max

Should not be because of the switch over, lock downs are mostly only featured topics and locked down by Richard,I will check with him.

As with the last version of the forum, once posts get beyond a certain time of inactivity, they are usually locked automatically.  This ensures a form of archive and prevents discontinuity.

Max,

The best of 2010 thread has gone because it was started by an ever-loquacious <ex-member>. Like all his other threads, it's toast.

Paul, I hope you kept your receipt.

Thank's for the replies.   Chief, if what you are saying is indeed the case, I believe it to be very heavy handed in censorship, and really feel it's a shame that it has come to this.   There were a great many thought provoking topics with good information which no longer can be accessed because a certain <ex member> over steped some boundries?

Is it fair?
Ps.  I do like the new look, and really think this has been a great forum to share info,  but this latest development of blocking information has gone too far, and would kindly ask the mods to consider otherwise.

What happened to my post, can no longer view it in the music room.  Think I know, but never assume . . .

Thank's
