Unitiserve & TeddyDac

Posted by: Louis-Andre on 25 July 2013

the sound coming out of my Macbookpro(wireless) / SBT/TeddyDac is IMHO almost on par with my CDS3 set up... so close in fact it took me quite a few tests to assess for sure.

So not sure it makes sense to keep the CDS3... also the Macbookpro belings to my wife so I would need another replaczment source.

As anyone tried a Unitiserve  with a TeddyDac?  i think it should be even better than via the Macbookpro, but have not tried

Can“t tell you anything about the T-Dac. I use my UServe with the NaimDac and XPS2. But I couldn`t say that the Userve was on par with my CDX2 (with NaimDac and XPS2). The Userve was more muffled than the CDX2, there was less detail and less treble.

I'm a liite bit surprised, that Naim - that takes so much care about power supply-  uses such a cheap PSU for the UServe and doesn't offer an upgrade...

Dooooode.  A Naim DAC with XPS is a must in that system.  Forget the TeddyDAC.  Ebay that thing.

Just bought the TeddyDac and agreed with the OP that the TeddyDac sounds fanstastic. I am quite surprised that pcstockton made a sweeping comment? Just wonder if you have heard this little gem.

I heard one of these, fed by a Roksan CD player, and it was very good indeed. Just because it is not made in Salisbury does not make it rubbish.

judging by his comment, i bet Patrick did not hear it. The TeddyDac is the best bang for the buck that I made in a long time, and to my ears betters the NaimDac by a bug margin

I thought the bear word was filtered out? G

Best + cap tends to arouse concern. Good products though.

I have not heard it.  My suggestion just seemed logical from a system synergy perspective.

Turn the PT off then, it's rubbish anyway.

I sometimes need it, but i have to be careful with PT if the message I send is deemed important.

I understand Peter, that you might find it helpful, but it is a bit flakey at times.

Just listening to a squeezebox touch into the name DAC  and it is a great combination.
I'm sure your TDAC is giving you similar results.

What are you connecting the squeezebox to the DAC with?

Hi Sloop John B,

Sorry for the late reply. i use a Chord Signature.

I am listening less and less to my CDS3, and much more to the SBT/TeddyDac... The difference in SQ is so small I cannot justify keeping my CDS3 any longer...
