JJ Cale has passed away

Posted by: BigH47 on 27 July 2013

I have just got an e-mail from Rosebud agency:-

"We've lost a great artist and a great person tonight.

JJ Cale passed away at 8:00 pm on Friday July 26 at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, CA.

He had suffered a heart attack. There are no immediate plans for services."

There does not appear to be any other info on the web at this time.

What sad news, he was such a fine musician and a pretty cool guy too. His music will live on though. And a big, big thanks for it! RIP

Thanks Howard. Sad news indeed. What a wonderful legacy - to have brought musical pleasure to generations past, present and future.

Time for a spin of 'Okie' I think.

"Cajun moon - where does your power lie?"

John.

A fine songwriter, guitarist, & musician, whom I often felt didn't get as much recognition as her deserved.

Wow, makes me sad.

Early '70's. Cruising down the highway, listening to "Naturally" over and over on my Pioneer 8-Track. So good!

This guy was the real deal. RIP.

Very sorry to learn of this sad news.  A major figure so very understated.

I have liked and listened to his music since 70's but it was only a few years ago when I saw the documentary "To Tulsa and Back" when I really understood what a great guy JJ Cale was.

  Respect and RIP!
