Demand for high-end s/h kit

I saw auctions for various top-end items from the Scottish company ending on a well-known site yesterday without a single bid.  Prices - although high in absolute terms - were a fraction of new.  For example, the starting price for the active speakers was a third of list, for kit which was in original condition.  How come there were no bids?  At this level do customers buy only from dealers, or is the lack of bids due to the economy, holiday period, or something else?

Who knows? It depends on what's being sold, who's selling it and what price is asked.

If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is too good to be true.

Kit included Klimax DS, Kontrol and 350As.  350As alone were £20k off list - enough to buy a car.  I'd imagine that anyone in the market for this kind of system would accept a small level of risk to achieve these savings.
