As reported by Thrashers Wheat:

TOUR DATES CANCELLED

August 8, 2013

For immediate release:

Due to an accident involving Crazy Horse, the remaining dates on the Neil Young and Crazy Horse tour of Europe and the British isles have been cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes to our fans or the Festivals where we were scheduled to appear. As you must be, we too are disappointed at this unfortunate turn of events.

-- Neil Young and Crazy Horse

Hope all is well and not too serious.

I was looking forward to seeing them again on this tour but as long as all works out well that is what is important.

All the best to Neil and The Horse.

Richard

I love Times Fades Away. I will have to put that on tonight.

From Billy Talbot on the cancellations:

All four of us in the Horse are extremely disappointed in this turn of events. We've never had to cancel a show before. After being together for 40 years, we know there's no way we can play without Poncho, or any one of us. The four of us have to be there for it to be NYCH. If there's any way that we could have played these shows, we would be there. This is an extremely hard twist of fate for us to accept.
One of the reasons that we love what we're doing and it rocks so much, is the fact that we respect that it comes from the four of us. A unified passion.

At the O2 in June - one minor but very important (to me anyway) difference to the Helsinki set list was that after a very warm chat to the audience they finished with 'Roll Another Number' - great surprise.

It's a shame about the cancellations, but the right call IMO-wish Poncho a speedy recovery.

Exactly right.

Enough of this sentimentality - these guys are entertainers whose main (only?) responsibility is to the public who pay their wages. Ringo Starr who was rather more integral to the Beatles than Poncho (who?) is to Crazy Horse was replaced by a session drummer for their Australian tour. Young should maybe take a lesson from that.

After a couple of weeks practice you could just switch in another jobbing musician from the Jay Leno TV show band and no-one would know the difference. The show must go on as they say.

Can you imagine the old-school entertainers cancelling on an overly-sentimental premise such as 'we would miss our mate too much'? No way would they let their fans down in such a decadent manner.

I think I see the problem here:

These guys are NOT entertainers, they are musicians.

If you want to see entertainers look elsewhere.

Young  is a musician when he wants to indulge his amour-propre and an entertainer when it comes to venues e.g. choosing the O2 Centre for revenue rather than for artistic reasons. He is also a seasoned  litigator when it comes to protecting his financial interests. Nothing wrong with being an artist and a business man i.e. an entertainer - just spare us the happy family BS and show the customer a little more respect if you want to keep your halo
