Firmware 3.21 available NOW! Mac version too!!

Has anybody downloaded this yet? Comments?
Mac version but the hi-fi is in boxes for major decorating!!!
Just updated my NDX with the Mac updater, a flawless victory!
The app seems to require OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, but I guess that's no problem for the most of us.
Cheers Naim, looks like a solid release!
I might forgive the apalling delivery/deadline times, if Airplay support was included.
Just as I'm leaving NDX ownership they get the Mac updater sorted. Good news though.
Cough, cough... Apparently Seek2time isn't working (at least when transcoding to WAV with Asset).
My PC is at the opposite end of the house to the NDS, perhaps 10m away. If I have understood the instructions correctly I therefore need to buy a 10m USB connecting lead even though they are Cat5 connected?
Seek to time is also not working here on the NDX. What i do see is a multiroom option (without a picto), but i won't be using that since i have only one player.
Anyone any suggestions to get seek to time working? Should it work by sliding the timebar?
John3, that's correct. Make sure it's a good quality USB-cable too, as 10m is bit of a reach... But either that or use a laptop.
And to confirm my suspicions, the transcoding was/is the fault for Seek2time not working.
ALACs and FLACs seek just fine when not transcoded as WAV. Hi-res also.
MP3s/AACs don't even show the seek slider...
Umm, was it "rigorous testing" or what was delaying the release?
Correct, FLAC does work. At least some good news
Now wait for the version 3.22 to make it work for the other formats
Oh yeah, and it works perfectly smooth (only looks a bit low-res)
Mac updater worked perfectly here on a SuperUniti. Seeking works on everything I've thrown at it using minimserver.
*slow clap*
One more flawless updater right here. The only downside to updating is the enormous amount of cables (seriously... One laptop, plus one UTP and one usb cable for a device that already is connected to my LAN?)
however, seek2 time works like a charm on my flac library.
Phew! Despite the "pre-match nerves", update worked fine on my Uniti2 and the seek2time works well on my flac library.
Good luck,
Vlad
Does it work for files ripped in WAV?
It looks like that seek2time does not work in Bubble UPNP. For other 3rd party UPNP controllers no luck either.
I tried flac, wav, mp3 formats.
I'll give it a try tomorrow... Shame the seek2time is not working with Asset transcoding to WAV as that's the only real benefit for me.
OK done update, had to install a driver, must read instructions next time.....but what exactly is seek2time?
Has anyone tried seek2time with a Unitiserve trancoding to WAV?
Keith
It's so you can move back and forth within songs by moving the blue slider.
Just did the NDS in about fourty minutes from start to finish. No issues.
Seek2time works beautifully.
Thank you so much.
I've now got the basic function set I've always wanted.
john 3, this might be a bit obvious but what about taking the nds to the pc?
you wont get a ten metre usb cable that works, they are not much cop at five.

Yes, don't use a 10 mt USB cable, too much and possibly you will have trouble. Just bring your Naim next to your PC/Mac and use a standard USB cable.
To everyone is trying to update in USB, don't forget to download USB drivers from the link you can find in the Upgrade Manual included with the Naim Updater application: the Naim Updater application alone is not enough.
Some ask me why his Mac didn't recognize the Naim USB.. as above, without downloading and installing the right driver, it is impossible to update the firmware.
I have never seen a usb driver for osx since it came out. I am sure they must exisit.

Normally OS X has the most common third parties drivers included, such as printer drivers etc. Other common products use generic or system specific drivers already included in OS X, that's the way asynchronous USB DACs works.
Other products (generally for some special/not common application/components, like the Naim USB updater interface, need drivers that are not included natively into OS X, so you have to download and install it.
Anybody in the Bath/Wells area who is desperate is welcome to borrow my laptop, with the installer already set up on it and a USB lead which I knows works. Providing I know you from here.
Time to buy a usb to RS232 serial cable so I can do the Qute. Amazon had one with the PL chipset for $10 (from TrendMicro). It gets decent reviews so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks for reporting this Murkku -- saves me the bother of doing this firmware upgrade.
