It does - on the ND5 XS. Moving the slider on n-Stream seems to be a bit slower with WAV-files than with flac, but ceratainly I am able to scroll through WAV-files (using Playback as UPNP-application and streaming with cable-LAN from the hard disk of a MacMini - most simple setup I know).

Is there any way to use seek2time besides n-Stream, i.e with the remote control or directly on the streamer? I think the small bar on my iPhone with n-Stream isn't precise enough to search a certain "spot" in the music. I mostly "jump" too far, or too short.

Having got over my crisis and successfully installed the new firmware on my ND5XS I can confirm that Seek2Time works on PCM WAV files transcoded from both FLAC and SACD ISO files using JRiver.

Not tried S2T using the handset remote but it certainly works with nstream on the ipad.

I am updating my wife's MacBook Air just for this release. I hope everything will be alright since I have some bad experience in updating my NDS from 3.15 to 3.17 using someone's windows laptop.

A happy updated SuperUniti for me! Is s2t and multiroom really the only new thing?

I only have one device, and like to listen to the whole song ...

I really hoped for a new nstream app with improved layout. Maybe next year

Regards.

Could someone please recommend a USB to serial cable from Amazon that hAve definitely worked for them? I use a mac and NDX. Thanks

Seek2Time does not respond to the remote and as far as I can see you can't add this function via the Handset Keys settings.

The DSP image has changed in this release so what's the consensus on how 3.21 sounds? Is it a change for the better? Patrick seems to think so on this thread https://forums.naimaudio.com/to...rmware-3-21-fault-36.

Morning folk... Managed to update my 'Qute 1 this morning via its RS232 but can't get the software to work with the 'Qute 2's mini USB .... The updated software can't recognise the USB ports as serial ones on my mac book pro ... I've tried three different cables, various driver updates, and am about to try with my iMac - how frustrating ...

Silly me - there is a different driver for the mini USB! All is well now ...

The Hama USB Adapter, Serial 9 pin, SKU #00053325v2 worked flawlessly with my previous Naim Uniti.

I don't think the sound signature is changed. My SU sound apparently the same.

I haven't seen any claims from Naim that the new firmware release will improve sound quality.  Presumably they would have highlighted any such improvements if they had engineered/noticed any

Thanks for reporting this Murkku -- saves me the bother of doing this firmware upgrade.

Hi Hook,

may be it is too premature to jump into conclusions. I just updated my NDS to V3.21 - without any problems. In parallel I downloaded the latest version of nstream (V3.3). And although I am transcoding from FLAC to WAV in Asset seek2time works fine for me...

Just updated my NDS - flawless process. And.... Seek to time with Asset transcoding to WAV from FLAC works for me too... Thanks Naim!

Maybe a fix was in the new N Stream app which I also downloaded today.

Confirmed!

The new N-Stream 3.3 fixed the transcoding/seek2time problem.

2nd try on a NDS was successful......Mac Package is more than was expected. Well done finally. Thanks to the development team of NAIM.

Forgot to mention, I used the Mac updater - I also run Win 7 under parallels, but thought I'd give the native updater a go. Worked well, so hopefully no more complaints from the Mac owners club.

Im having problems on my  mac with the updater I followed instructions but the installer dosent recognise  my usb to min usb cable in the drop down window, I have downloaded the usb update . which also for some reason doesn't want o run as .dmg

Posted on: 14 August 2013 by DaveBk

Hi Mohamad, the .dmg is a disk image. When you double click it you should find a new disk in finder within which should be the installer.

Flawless update of NDS to 3.21 using windows XP...all working perfectly with Asset Upnp transcoding to WAV and latest version of n-stream. Sounding great too. Well done and thank you Naim!

Hi guys,

Update process went flawless, 15 min, done. NStream is alos updated now. Seek2Time works perfectly well with all file formats; I use Assett UpnP on a wired pc. Some people made note of problems with Internet Radio; I have no problems whatsoever.

well managed update Naim !

Posted on: 15 August 2013 by hungryhalibut

It's a miracle - I've managed the update without help from my son! It all works perfectly and the seek to time function in the app is smooth as can be.

Posted on: 15 August 2013 by ChrisH

Mohammed,

Seek2Time is simply that in nStream you are able to now drag the time slider to fast forward / fast backwards in a track.

Enjoy!
