Has anybody downloaded this yet? Comments?
Mac version but the hi-fi is in boxes for major decorating!!!
Anyone else use Twonky and had better luck?
Just upgrade my UQ to 3.21 and latest nstream last night. s2t works okay on my QNAP but I moved away from using twonky a while ago. Now use Minim which works on the QNAP without any s2t issues.
Not sure about that, I took the word of my Dealer (Audio-T, Portsmouth) and Steve Hopkins may have mentioned it in a phone call we had. I can't put my hands on the invoice at the moment either, I cleverly put it in the Qute's box then stashed the box in the roof space...
So you have an UnitiQute2, with all the new specs including DAB+.
Me too, I have an UnitiQute without the "2" on the label but has the USB and it is a version 2.
Am I right in thinking the seek to time slider is the one that shows timings in the 'now playing' screen? Would be good to see a screenshot of it working so I can be sure I'm not just looking in the wrong place!
Used the new Naim OSX installer, my Macbook Air, and a USB to USB-mini that came with an old WD hard drive. Installed the proper drivers to recognize the serial port and off I went. No problems. Everything working brilliantly, as it should, on the Superuniti. Bravo.
The updated app on the iPhone runs well, too. Seek2Time working as it should.

Yes that's correct. On the new version there is a white 'button' which shows the current time position on the slider bar. It is by dragging this button that you can move backwards (left) or forwards (right) within the track being played.
Hy folks,
just updated my 172xs with USB-Cable, no problems at all.
Seek2time works pretty well with ALAC and FLAC up to 192/24 (Mybooklive / Twonky via ethernet), but not for MP3 (who needs this...?).
No problems with gapless.
Can“t test multiroom with only one streamer.
Nice WE to all of you.
Just updated NDS. No problems and took about 15 mins with old Vista laptop. Used USB cable that came with my Canon EOS camera which has the mini USB connector.
Took the UQ2 out of its box (decorating) and connected the MacBook did everything I was meant to, got to the point of sending the 'lines' and then nothing. Waited a while, still nothing - aborted.
Borrowed Granny's laptop (PC) and all worked smoothly as it has every time before (did the SuperUniti as well with no problems).
Nearly there on the Mac side (some people have had no probs) but not quite Naim. Next time then. Thanks for the upgrade by the way.
Apologies if this has already been mentioned and I've missed it, but do I have to upgrade from v. 3.16 to 3.17 first, or can I go straight to 3.21?
Thanks.

Hy Nick,
have done update from 3.16 to 3.21 an my NAC172 without any problem.
New firmware makes even better SQ (more punsh on the bass and brighter mid/high).
Hello,
I finally managed to update my Uniti to version 3.21. I use Nstream version 3.4.7079 on my iPad. But I am very disappointed : Seek2Time -which was the main goal of updating- does not work.
- when I read a track on an USB drive, there is just no slider-bar showing elapsed time
- when reading by UpnP, I just cannot move the little time position marker. I tried 2 ways : streaming from by PC with foobar, or streaming directly from a NAS, none did work.
I also imagined that seek2time would allow the use of the fastforward or rewind remote control commands, which is just not the case.
Thanks for the advices.

Thanks Tom. I'll have to get down to this. I wasn't expecting a sound quality improvement though. That would be an extra bonus.
As I understand it, it's the ability to skip through a track to a specific point - i.e. fast forward / rewind. I'm sure someone who has actually used it will correct me if I'm wrong!

That's exactly how it works for me (Uniti2 controlled via n-Stream on an iPad).
The slider bar button (under the track details) can be moved forwards or backwards to change the current track playing position.
As such, it is not a "fast forward or reverse" as per an iPod (for those old enough to remember - on a cassette deck or reel-to-reel, like holding the fast forward button while the play one is engaged so that you hear it speeded up) rather it enables you to move to a particular time position in the track.
Regards,
Vlad
So far as my experience goes, that sums it up nicely. A very useful feature if perhaps not frequently used. There are still a few flaky areas in nStream and I think nServe has a more logical feature set and layout. But for me nStream now contains the basic set of functions I always wanted I'm happy with it. And it's faster, which is very welcome and appreciated. You can always polish something up and everybody has their own particular needs and likes. But that's people for you. I would still like instantaneous resume when opening the cover on the iPad - like nServe does so well.
I got Seek2time in nStream immediately after my NDS FW upgrade. It just appeared. There were two subsequent nStream updates in quick succession but I appear to have been fortunate from the off.
I now have a successful 3.21 installation; seek to time is indeed exactly as Vlad describes. Nice to have.
A couple of observations:
I found the drivers bit of the (Mac) instructions confusing, but installed what I thought and it seemed to work.
Instructions say the update could take "as long as 10 mins". Mine took about half an hour.
No discernible improvement in sound quality to my ears.
Looks like I am the dullard in the class. I am using a 15" rMacbookPro connecting via USB to mini-USB on the NDX. I have installed the USB driver and checking the system report it appears to have installed correctly. On the updater the serial port does not appear as an option, just a Bluetooth-PDA connection. I have tried 2 USB cables, re-installs, reboots of Mac and NDX but no port. Any ideas? I installed the driver from the NDS section as it looks like that is where the USB drivers are for the NDX.
I appreciate your help.
Ian
Lumos: I found the driver stuff very confusing (and was updating a Superuniti), so am maybe not the best person to help you, but there are separate driver links for NDX and NDS in the instructions, so I'm not sure why you used those in the NDS section?
Dear Nick,
Thank you for your reply. Under the NDX section it lists the following drivers
Com port type List
NaimUniti, UnitiQute, NDX
Requires 9 pin to 9 pin RS232 serial cable (or USB to Serial converter - ones with FTDI or Prolific drivers are suggested. An example of which is available here:
FTDI: http://www.ftdichip.com/driver...alDriver_v2_2_18.dmg
For most up to date drivers follow the below link: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
Prolific: http://prolificusa.com/files/m...X10.6_dmg_v1.4.0.zip
For most up to date drivers follow the below link:

I am using neither a 9pin to 9 pin RS232 nor a USB to serial cable as my NDX is USB mini. Maybe you are right and I still use the above drivers, if so Prolific or FTDI?
Thanks again,
Ian
Yes, that is what I concluded and used. It seems to have installed correctly yet will not present the port as an option. It is not entirely clear whether this is a Mac issue or an NDX issue. Can one see the port as an option even if the streamer is not plugged in? If they can then I know it is not a Naim problem.
Your response is helpful as I felt uneasy about my decision to use the drivers for the NDS in defiance of the instructions.
