Howard's iMac problem #?

Posted by: BigH47 on 13 August 2013

OK the problem is whilst listening to music from NAS - iTunes-iMac - DAC to system, I can still hear notifications from Facebook.

I have been into System preferences and in Personal, stopped all sound notifications Chrome , Mail etc.

Is there a way of selecting NO SOUND for alerts in SP Hardware - Sounds? I can change sounds but not select for none.

I can't see any way of selecting no sound in FaceBook, not that that is surprising as it's such a POC software.

Any ideas ?

TIA

Finally I think I have found the settings I wanted, in true FB tradition not where you would think.

Howard,

Under sp sounds..sound effects where you select the sound set, there should be an option to disable/enable interface audio feed back and to set alert volume. Also, if Facebook is using Notification Centre, there is also an option in SP Notifications to disable audible alerts.

which version of osX are you running and does your signon have admin rights?

Does Facebook try to bong you even if your browser is shut down? What if your browser is open but not on Facebook? (A noxious piece of software, for sure)
