Football season 2013-2014

Posted by: mista h on 16 August 2013

As tomorrow the silly season starts all over again i thought i would start up this new thread so that followers of this stupidly rich game could have a say in anything Footie related. So if you want to have a moan or sing the praises about anything related would love to know about it.

My own moan is that lazy git Berbatov has carried on the way he ended last season. Watched him in our 2 home PSFs.He hardly broke sweat.

Also got to shake hands with our new Billionaire Chairman(Mr Khan),a friendly guy who appears to have trouble finding a barber shop

Well, Mista H, limber up, slap on the aftershave, get out the viagra because it seems you're going to score tonite.

Miss Philippines awaits!

Just had words with SHMBO to check if she had any objections with me having a little romp with Miss World. She just looked at me ,laughed and left the room.

What does my head in is that last tuesday we were crap. At home to Sheffield utd and in 2 hrs of football we could not score, yet away to united today we stuff 2 in the bag.

Q........As we now have 2 football threads going should we ask Richard to shut one of them down .

?

I hope your missus appreciates your sacrifice, Mista H.

Having watched the second half of the game I thought your lot were dead and buried in the last 10 mins.  It was quite sweet watched the reaction and the crowd go quiet as Bent's headed in the rebound in injury time.

And, yes, we need Richard to combine the two threads.

Never realised Jonathon King and Charlie Drake were Manchester United fans.

The press haven't been too supportive of Moyes after that Fulham game and I came across this blog on Yahoo which makes a lot of sense. Enough is enough I would have thought.

Steve - I'd be very surprised to see Moyes given the push at this stage in the season and I wouldn't put it past them to turn over Arsenal this week (so doing the double over the Gunners).  I might have missed it, but I haven't detected any under-current of player discontent at Man U.  Players seem to have unprecedented power these days and when the axe falls on a manager there's usually some hint of player unrest behind the scenes in addition to poor performances on the pitch.  Even big clubs have to go through the occasional period of transition. I'm not remotely a Man U fan but I still hope that patience and common sense prevails here.

Oh, and I should offer a 'thank you' to Richard for getting us back to just the one football thread.

Fergie back apparently.

You have to question Moyes tactics in that last game against Fulham. There were over 80 crosses in that game and apparently only six passes between the two main strikers, Rooney and Van Persie, two of those were at the kick off. That's the type of football you expect to see in the Sunday leagues. With a fit full strength strike force back and the addition of Mata you would expect a better performance. Some of Moyes decisions seem very naive for a manager of a top flight club like United. If United end up in the Europa league, as seems very likely, the pressures will be even greater next year.

Perhaps Fergie coming out of retirement would be the answer.

Will they even make the europa league ?  OR Thursday nite football as the son-in-law calls it.

It isn't going to happen - but I would rather "avoid" the Europa League if Champions League qualification became an impossiblity.

We have already started that planning I suppose by making sure we are not in the FA Cup to avoid that potential complication.

Though as United are going to win the Champions League this season it is all academic anyway

Chris,

Even your usual bravado is waning.

Don't worry we'll cheer you up on Saturday.

A classic smash and grab we were, it has to be said, lucky to win. The 2-0 scoreline definitely flattered us in what was a pretty dire game.

Still, up to 10th! I'm gonna get vertigo!

After last nite it could be Hippo Head and his girls for that final Europa league spot.

Doubt it Mista, unless Saints and the Barcodes hit a terrible run of form - nine points separate 9th and 10th...

Man City and Everton matches postponed due to the weather in the north west.

Didn't go - so no speeding offence issues whatsoever - dinn't lose away for a change - Arsenal didn't win - and so long as Liverpool don't get a last minute winner ……… oh dear

Posted on: 12 February 2014 by Chris Dolan

……. actually we have 42 points now - so we are definitely staying up   - as well as winning the Champions League - again.

Happy hammer here, 10 points out of 12. Anything from 10th place down could be dodgy lose two games and you will be in the thick of it.
