Football season 2013-2014

As tomorrow the silly season starts all over again i thought i would start up this new thread so that followers of this stupidly rich game could have a say in anything Footie related. So if you want to have a moan or sing the praises about anything related would love to know about it.
My own moan is that lazy git Berbatov has carried on the way he ended last season. Watched him in our 2 home PSFs.He hardly broke sweat.
Also got to shake hands with our new Billionaire Chairman(Mr Khan),a friendly guy who appears to have trouble finding a barber shop

Yep, that's it Mista. So are you going from Tooting to Plaistow to Putney?
Kevin,looks a nice pub............by east London standards.
Will give the Wheatsheaf a bash, unless one of our lot wants to go to the W/spoons in Tooting High st. Then i think its any old bus down Garratt lane into Wandsworth, then a 220 over Putney bridge into Fulham Palace Rd.

Total agree MDS it would be great for my city of Sheffield. However, being an Owls fan all my life no doubt they will f**k it up!! Come on you owls.
Graham.
Well Graham. It would have been nice but there's always next year.

I should have asked earler, this Michelin starred pie n mash shop we are going to in Tooting on Sat does it serve any beer, fine wines etc,or is it a mug of tea job ?

Well while my mood has been somewhat lifted by my lot's narrow win over Accrington Stanley this evening (oh, how has is come to this?), the dismal performance of England's champions in Greece has tempered things. Apart from VP missing a good chance in the second half, I can't think of a worthwhile effort. The 'bubbles' thoroughly deserved their 2-0 win. Looks like Chelsea are the last hope for progress in the Champions League.

Oh well that's football .
What I will never understand is why a manager in this case Stuart Gray decides to make six changes to a team that won away 2-0 at Huddersfield on Sat and in doing throws away the chance for the city of Sheffield to have its day in the sun
ATB Graham.
I thought Ferdinand had a crap game, and our ex employee Smalling spent most of the game on his backside. As for the Rip Van Winkle miss !!
Have to say the Greeks know how to liven a stadium up.

Chris Dolan seems to have gone missing. Funny that...
Think his team needs some of these
I think as i type this Mista D is probably sitting in some Bar in Athens drowning his sorrows.

I wasted a couple of hours of my precious time watching a load of old tripe from the MU team last night. What a truly dreadful performance from supposedly top-flight footballers. I hope they're hanging their heads in shame.
Well as matches go I thought the Greeks played well against the Pub Side from Manchester

Fortunately for him Chris didn't go to the match so he's probably drowning his sorrows in a bar somewhere in the UK. They were dire weren't they? Is it really just the players? Personally I think it more to do with the manager who couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.
As a Liverpool fan I think Agent Moyes is doing an excellent job and I hope he stays there for many years.
Personally I think slur Alex gave him a hospital ball with that job. His latter purchases, Smalling, Evans, Silva, Kagawa, Young and Valencia, Cleverly (the list goes on) are quite poor.

From the pen of one of Pompey's finest:
"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds nought and six, result misery."

Oh, how true, Chris. The sins of former owners. But now that the fans own the club we have Great Expectations.
Have to say MDS you are getting fantastic gates for a league 2 club. A few more seasons we should be playing you..............in the Championship.

Nah, strictly Sainsbury's Basics tea bags...
I usually have pie, mash eels and liquor, sets me up for the day...

While I very much enjoyed our time in the Premier League, though it probably led to our financial demise through giving players contracts we couldn't afford, being realistic I think our natural place in the football hierachy is the Championship. I'd love to believe we'd be back there in "a few seasons" but the rebuilding necessary means it will probably take rather longer so I guess you won't to meet us too soon!
The Pompey Legends are playing the teachers at my son's school tomorrow. You wouldn't get that from Man U.
Perhaps mista Dolan can confirm this but reading todays Daily Mail it says Man U have told their STHs that unless they buy a ticket for the home game against Olympiacos they wont get a ticket for the upcoming game against Man City. If this is true,to me this is plain blackmail and i would tell them to poke it where the sun never shines.

I don't know who plays for the Pompey Legends these days, HH, but your post has triggered one of my most treasured memories. When I was teenager the owner of the supermarket at which I had a Saturday job was into charitable event and had arranged a celebrity football match. I was roped in to make up the numbers on the team who was meant to be taking on the celebrity team. Imagine my shock when I turned up and discovered that team was a Pompey Legends team draw from the Championship-winning side of 1950? Imagine my double shock when the legends discovered they were a player short and I was picked to make up their numbers?!!
And guess who on that team was the first to go down with cramp? Yes, I was so excited and keen to make an impression I ran around like a headless-chicken until I ran out of steam. But, hey, I'll never forget that day, and it didn't half impress my Dad when he eventually overcame his disbelief.

Aaah - Daily Mail and true in the same post - what do you think?
However there is an automatic cup scheme in place.
Which is what you agree as part of the season ticket - so I automatically - and very gratefully thank you very much - get access for the Champions League game "creditted" to my Season Ticket / access card - but it is at an additional cost - a direct debit from my account that went out weeks ago.
If however I had failed to honour my agreement then the club would have been entitled to withdraw my facilities - ie cancel my Season Ticket / access card - for my breach of its terms.
