Football season 2013-2014

Posted by: mista h on 16 August 2013

As tomorrow the silly season starts all over again i thought i would start up this new thread so that followers of this stupidly rich game could have a say in anything Footie related. So if you want to have a moan or sing the praises about anything related would love to know about it.

My own moan is that lazy git Berbatov has carried on the way he ended last season. Watched him in our 2 home PSFs.He hardly broke sweat.

Also got to shake hands with our new Billionaire Chairman(Mr Khan),a friendly guy who appears to have trouble finding a barber shop

….. and Southampton lost - so United have 7th sewn up - but hopefully no higher

Southampton needed to win today to help keep Liverpool top. If Liverpool win the league, Pompey get a £1m windfall. Fingers crossed.

Didn't think I'd ever will Liverpool to win the title (both daughters' partners follow them ) but my lot could do with the money rather more than most.

Yes, congratulations to Leicester. David Nugent never really did it for my lot. Always looked one-paced. But he's certainly done the business for the Foxes.

Oh, and 'way to go' Palace. Haven't the Eagles turned it around?

Good grief - that's terrible. You have my sympathies.

Although at least the shell suits will make for inexpensive wedding attire.

You are sure that it is not one person playing two roles though? It has been known - Gerrard masquerades as an England player sadly - or is that badly?

My son and I have our revenge planned. Eldest daughter has three young children, two of which are boys.  As soon as they are old enough we will whisk them off to Fratton Park (much nearer and easier to get into than Anfield) where we hope the bug will bite!

Good luck  - but hopefully the right bug and not a nasty unhygenic bugger - and talking of biting watch out there's a Suarez about

(Chris making Hannibal Lecter / Anthony Hopkins noises to try to create some sense out of this nonsense)

Just back from villa, absolute demon coach driver.

Full length black coat, black trousers, white shirt, black greased hair and sunglasses. He looked like a cross between an undertaker and a hit man for the Mafia.

Liverpool 1, West Ham 1.

Fair 1st half result by by the sound of the Radio coverage, Liverpool under par and West Ham playing well.

Although hand ball it was still unfortunate for West Ham at the time they were playing very well. West Hams goal was possibly controversial, but alls fair in love and war. New half and Liverpool need to up their game.

..and Liverpool just awarded a very dubious pen which Gerrard tucks away.  Maybe LFC do have the rub-of-the-green as the season reaches its climax.

Yep, dubious indeed.

Retrospective analysis on the Hammers goal is that it was a foul by Carroll....none the less lets see where we go. Seems Liverpool are getting their fair share of penalties these days and not just at Anfield, makes a change from Man U.

It's the way Rodgers has Liverpool playing with plenty of players getting in the box your going to get more penalties.Swansea had over 16 in two seasons with BR in charge.

Good and simple point Steve. You can tell my ambitions to be a school football team coach is...limited.

Well, not sure LFC deserved all 3 points from this game but I suppose they will count it as one of those games where you just have to grind out a result.

Everton were much more convincing earlier today.  Arsenal look to be fading fast.

LFC v Man C next week will be a game to watch, for sure.

Well there you, Liverpool 2, West Ham 1...probably a fair result overall and sounds like West Ham played an excellent game.

Would be good to get Kevin's view on the matter.

Next up, Man City

I didn't know they still played football at Fratton Park.

I see the Norwich board has sacked Chris Hughton this evening. The Canaries are 5 points above the relegation zone and their next game is six-pointer against Fulham. The final four games are against Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal.  What on earth is youth team coach meant to do with that?

I'm sorry to say that for most of this season they haven't, Mr Mole.

Just got back. To be honest I wasn't expecting anything but we played quite well - Amero and Downing were particularly fine. The manner in which we lost was a bit galling - Liverpool's second pen was very dubious.

But the fact that Liverpool couldn't score from open play, and that we did far better than Arsenal, Man U and the Spuds is a source of pride for we Irons.

Also, the Sturridge taunts: "You're just a shit Danny Welbeck, you're just a shit Danny Welbeck, shit Danny Welbeck"  were well worth the price of admission...

That is just mental.
