Football season 2013-2014

Posted by: mista h on 16 August 2013

As tomorrow the silly season starts all over again i thought i would start up this new thread so that followers of this stupidly rich game could have a say in anything Footie related. So if you want to have a moan or sing the praises about anything related would love to know about it.

My own moan is that lazy git Berbatov has carried on the way he ended last season. Watched him in our 2 home PSFs.He hardly broke sweat.

Also got to shake hands with our new Billionaire Chairman(Mr Khan),a friendly guy who appears to have trouble finding a barber shop

A dismal day only brightened by Chelsea's loss to rock-bottom Sunderland. That was funny, and has dealt their title ambitions a mortal blow.

Just as well you had that Nolan-inspired good run of results a few months back, Kevin.

Pompey one of the best away grounds I've been to apart from only one toilet in the away end. Here's hoping you get your million :]

Thanks for that generous thought, Pete. Facilities are pretty basic but the atmosphere compensates.  Both daughters' partners are LFC fans so it would be doubly nice to seen them win the premier league.

Any time you want to swap Hippo man for mista McGoo you just give me the nod.  The guy cannot MANAGE. We had a penalty yesterday and Rodelaga & Sidwell are fighting to decide who takes it,something a MANAGER should decide before the team takes to the pitch. I have my ticket for Stoke away in 2 weeks, but if we dont beat Hull at home next weekend my ticket goes in the bin and i aint joking.

Good comeback by Norwich City in the second half -- they certainly made it an entertaining match, and I hope they find a way to stay up next year.

This was Sterling's best game of the year so far.  Not just the two goals plus the fabulous assist on the Suarez goal, but he was also incredibly aggressive on defense, and key to LFC's advantage in possession. IMO, he's rapidly becoming an elite player, one of only a handful with the speed, strength and stamina to play end line to end line for all 90+ minutes.

Rogers made two good substitutions in the last third.  Coutinho tries to match Sterling playing end to end, but seems to lack the stamina.  Moses played well in his place, and helped maintain a number of possessions.  Would have liked to see Agger come on at the start of the second half, as Norwich was getting way too many good chances, and especially off set plays.  As soon as Agger came on, they started doing a better job of clearing the ball, and killing the clock.

Three games left.  5 points clear of Chelsea, but only 3 clear of MC (assuming wins versus WBA and CP In their next two...a pretty safe bet IMO).  I think the Citizens will win their final 5 and, therefore, Liverpool will need to win their final 3 to win the EPL.  It's arguable, but I really do think Liverpool has the tougher path ahead...

ATB, and...Go Reds!

Hook - given the form Palace are in at the moment I don't think Man City can count on getting 3 points against them. That said I agree with you that it looks like Liverpool will win the league now. Chelsea at home will be key of course. Terrifically competitive season, though, at the top and the bottom.  It's understandable why the premier league is watched around the world.

Yes. PFC won't confirm it but I think LFC has.  One of very few positive legacies that Peter Storrie has left us.

Didn't tempt fate after all. 1-0 makes it five, yes five, league victories on the trot. I can hardly believe it!

Andy Awford's Blue & White Army.

I know. It's amazing! I'll iron my shirts to celebrate.
